Who I am and how it all started

I'm a 32 year old photographer living in south of Sweden. The story of my life as a photographer starts in September of 2006 when I went on a six month journey to South America. Travelling has been an interest of mine for all my life and I have been to many places around the world. I really enjoy being "on the road" and exploring new places and having each day feeling unique. Thoughts on getting into photography and photograph on my travels has slowly evolved for many years.

While I was planning my trip to South America my thoughts on getting into photography grew stronger and there were also some nice digital SLR cameras on the market that was not too expensive so I finally decided (one week before I left) to buy my first digital SLR, a Nikon D70s with a 18-70 kit lens. I was a total novice and knew nothing about how to use a SLR camera. I started out with the camera set to auto mode and concentrated on composition. I got hooked the first day I started using the camera and I took hundreds of pictures each day. I had a laptop with me on my trip and when I got back to the hotel or wherever I was staying in the evening after being out shooting all day I went through the images, picked out my favorites, uploaded the images to different critique forums on the net and got almost instant feedback and advice on how to improve my images. The next day I did it all over again with a bit better result and each day I felt how I evolved with my photography. I also meet other photographers on my trip that gave me lots of good advice. Doing this while traveling to all the amazing sights in South America for six month was probably the best photography education I could get. You can see some of my pictures from the trip on the My work-page that you find the link for in the top right corner of this page.

It's been almost two years now since I got back from South America and my love for photography is even stronger today. I keep taking pictures almost every day. My camera equipment has been upgraded and replaced over and over again and I now have a pretty good arsenal of gear. I've also been taking Photoshop classes to improve my post processing skills. I have my own photography business that I work with on my spare time (I still have a day job to pay my bills) and I have shot some assignments for magazines. I have big plans for the future, my list of places to see and photograph on this planet is long and my goal is to one day work with photography full time.

What I photograph

Basically everything. I love travel photography/photojournalism, it's probably my biggest passion in life. Travelling around the world and take pictures of places not seen by many people. Landscape photography is also something I enjoy. If you are in need of a photographer don't hesitate to contact me.
