Here’s the second image in this series. Shot at the same place as the previous one. I shot this at 200 mm/f4 with my Nikon D3. I have probably said this a couple of times before but I will never forget the afternoon I spent at the spice market in Old Delhi. I have never experienced such flow when it comes to photography. Great light and great people. I got some great images that afternoon.
One feature I like in Silver Efex Pro is the burn edges feature. You can see that I have added that on the bottom and right edge of this image. It gives a more square vignetting that I usually like more than the round vignetting. Another feature you have in Sliver Efex Pro is toning. I have added just a small touch of split toning on this one.
For a black and white, this image has a real warmth to it. I really like the feel of it.
I would like to see one just b/w done with PS and one finished with Silver Efex, could you do that?
I agree with Jeffrey. Do you think it could be due in part to the split toning?
Thanks! I also think it’s the split toning. I usually think a standard greyscale B&W image feels too neutral in some way. I usually like to add a warm or cold tone to it. A not toned B&W image also feels old in some way, a toning adds a modern feel to it in some way.
@GGOM I don’t know about making a B&W conversion in Photoshop… I don’t like doing that in PS, that’s why I bought Silver Efex Pro
I’m pretty sure you can get the same result in Photoshop if you know how but I’m also pretty sure that it will require more work and time.
Wonderful BW you create with silver exef pro. I mast try the trial version.
